Saint Petersburg Pulkovo Airport expects record pax in 2013 as year-to-date pax exceeds FY2012

Russia's Saint Petersburg Pulkovo Airport reported (12-Nov-2013) passenger numbers for the year so far exceeded the 11.15 million record passengers in full year 2012 on 11-Nov-2013, when passenger numbers reached 11.47 million. The airport now expects full year 2013 passengers to reach a new record, exceeding 12 million. The airport also reported the following Oct-2013 traffic highlights:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.1 million, +14.3% year-on-year;
    • Domestic: 497,767, +17.4%;
    • International: 562,422, +11.6%;

The top international destinations at the airport were Antalya, Larnaca, Frankfurt, Paris and Munich. Rossiya was the largest carrier at the airport in Oct-2013, transporting 372,073 passengers. The largest Russian carriers, Rossiya, Transaero, Aeroflot, UTair and S7 Airlines transported a combined 667,033 passengers during the month. The leading five airlines, Rossiya, Aeroflot, Transaero, Lufthansa and S7 Airlines accounted for 64% of the airport's total traffic with 674,744 passengers in Oct-2013. Meanwhile, foreign carriers Lufthansa, Uzbekistan Airlines, Air France, Emirates and Air Berlin transported a combined 978,731 passengers in the first 10 months of 2013, up 3%.
