Ryanair to expand fleet with order for 200-300 aircraft; in talks with Boeing, COMAC and Irkut

Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary stated the carrier is looking to take delivery of around 200 to 300 narrowbody aircraft between 2015 and 2021 and is in talks with Boeing, COMAC and Irkut, according to a Financial Times report.

Mr O'Leary stated the carrier would only acquire aircraft at "cheap prices". Mr O'Leary acknowledged that if the carrier, which operates an all-Boeing fleet, diversifies its fleet, operating costs would increase. Mr O'Leary added the carrier plans to expand passenger numbers from 72.1 million in 2010/11 to 120 million or 130 million in the future.
