Royal Jordanian to purchase seven B787s; lease four

Royal Jordanian stated it plans to purchase seven B787s and lease another four of the aircraft type (Arabian Business, 26-Apr-2011). The first B787 will join the carrier's fleet in 2014 and will be used to commence routes in emerging markets. Royal Jordanian president and CEO Hussein Dabbas stated the carrier has "no proper connection with Africa and we see that the African continent is up and coming, economically. The people have started to have a lot of disposable income to travel. "We would like to… connect the African nations with Jordan and the Middle East."
