Royal Jordanian Airlines CEO steps down

Royal Jordanian Airlines announced the resignation of Hussein Dabbas as CEO, effective 01-Jun-2012, as reported by Petra. Mr Dabbas stated he resigned as "the time has come for introducing change and implementing new ideas" at the airline. Royal Jordanian suffered a loss of JOD57 million (USD80.5 million) in 2011, attributing falling traffic due to the Arab Spring and higher oil prices. Mr Dabbas was appointed CEO of Royal Jordanian in Aug-2009, succeeding Samar Majali, who moved to Gulf Air.
