Qatar Airways completed LCC plan, but no intention to launch

Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker, stated the carrier has completed a plan for an LCC subsidiary, but will not launch the carrier unless it faces major competition from LCCs in the region (Gulf News, 07-Apr-2010). The CEO stated that "budget airlines" operating into Doha have not had any major impact on Qatar Airways' revenue.

Qatar Airways: "We already have our plan for the low-cost carrier ready, but we are holding it back. The plan is complete. We will launch the budget airline if there is a major dent in our revenue," Akbar Al Baker, CEO. Source: Gulf News, 07-Apr-2010.
