Qantas, Strategic and Pacific Blue submit submissions for Indonesia route

Qantas (on behalf of Jetstar), Strategic Airlines and Pacific Blue submitted (19-Aug-2010) supplementary submissions to the International Air Services Commission (IASC) for their applications to launch services from Australia to Indonesia.

  • Qantas has applied for 3,898 seats per week and an allocation of 729 seats and four frequencies per week beyond Indonesia capacity for Jetstar to launch additional services on the route. Jetstar plans to operate four times weekly Melbourne-Denpasar, 10 times weekly Perth-Denpasar and five times weekly Perth-Jakarta-Singapore service from 31-Mar-2010, with the exception of two weekly Melbourne-Denpasar services, which it plans to launch in 31-Oct-2011; [more - Qantas]
  • Strategic Airlines has applied for an additional allocation of 1,716 seats each way, each week. The carrier plans to launch 11 additional services on the route in Dec-2010, including increasing Perth-Denpasar frequency to daily; [more - Strategic Airlines]

The combined capacity the carriers have applied for exceeds the new capacity of 4,000 seats being offered by IASC.
