Qatar Airways hopes to commence operations to a fifth destination in Australia in the near future

Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker, speaking at a press conference for the launch of Doha-Sydney service, said (03-Mar-2016) the airline hopes to commence operations to a fifth destination, potentially Brisbane, in Australia in "in the not-too-distant future." The new route would require allocation of additional capacity under the bilateral air transport agreement between Australia and Qatar. Mr Al Baker said Australian authorities are open to negotiations on additional traffic rights.
