Pau drops Ryanair subsidies

France's Pau government stated it would cease providing subsidies to Ryanair to maintain services to the city after labelling the LCC's demand "intolerable" (AFP, 16-Feb-2011) The airport run by the city's chamber of commerce stated Ryanair requested Pau increase its subsidies from EUR1.4 million to EUR1.5 million in order for the LCC to maintain services to the UK, Belgium and Paris. The chamber stated it will no longer provide subsidies, advising Ryanair that both CityJet and flybe operate from Pau without.
