OAG reports 6% rise in Jan-2011 global seat capacity
OAG reports (13-Jan-2011) global airline capacity and frequency in Jan-2010 will increase 6% and 5% year-on-year, respectively. Asia continues to lead all regions of the world with nearly a third of all scheduled airline seats in Jan-2011. Details include:
- Global: capacity +6%, scheduled services +5% year-on-year;
- Within North America: +2%, +1%;
- To/from North America: +3%, stable;
- Within Middle East: +4%;
- To/from Middle East: +12%, +12%;
- Within Asia: +9%, +9%;
- To/from Asia: +11%, +12%. [more]
