Norway's Government budgets USD154m for aviation sector in 2015

Norway's Government proposed (08-Oct-2014) a budget of NOK992.2 million (USD154.3 million) for the country's aviation industry in 2015. The government plans to reduce costs for the industry in 2015 by funding NOK16 million (USD2.5 million) in Civil Aviation Authority costs through the state budget rather than fees. The government will grant NOK36.2 million (USD5.6 million) to support scheduled operations at non-government airports, including NOK12 million (USD1.9 million) for Stord Airport and NOK3 million (USD466,000) for Orland Airport. A new subsidy scheme for non-government airports will be introduced from 01-Jan-2016. The government will also commence a three-year pilot programme to improve transit services at Oslo Airport.
