Nanjing Airport to work with airlines to counter high-speed rail

China's Nanjing Airport announced it has launched Ningbo-Beijing air express service in conjunction with China Eastern Airlines, Air China, Shanghai Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines ahead of the official opening of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail link at the end of this month (China News, 21-Jun-2011). According to the airport, carriers have increased the baggage allowance on flights from 20kg per passenger to 25kg. Nanjing Airport stated it is also in talks with CAAC East China Regional Administration regarding delays due to air traffic control management.
