Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport reportedly considering converting Terminal A into LCCT

Russia's Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport reportedly announced plans to convert its Terminal A into a low cost terminal (LCCT) in 2010, which will become the first LCCT in Russia (aviaport.ru, 12-Oct-2009). As part of the plans, Aeroflot would be relocated from Terminal A to the new Terminal D, to allow for the reconstruction of Terminal A. However, the airport is currently unsure as to whether to proceed with the plans, as reconstruction of the terminal may lead to an increase in airport charges, which could potentially be unaffordable for LCCs.
