Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport pax up 9% in Dec-2012, handles 26 million pax in 2012

Russia's Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport reported (22-Jan-2013) the following traffic highlights:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.9 million, +9.3% year-on-year;
    
    • Domestic: 729,000, +11.2%;
    • International: 1.2 million, +8.2%;
• 2012:
  
  • Passenger numbers: 26.2 million, +16.1%;
    
    • Domestic: 9.1 million, +12%;
    • International: 17.2 million, +18.4%;

Aeroflot was the largest carrier at the airport in 2012 with 17.7 million passengers followed by Transaero (1.9 million), Nordwind Airlines (898,000) and Donavia (612,000). The most popular international routes were Antalya, Paris, Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, Kiev, Beijing, New York, Larnaca and Istanbul.
