Miami Airport sets new traffic record of 35.6 million pax in 2010

US' Miami International Airport stated (25-Jan-2011) preliminary year-end numbers for 2010 show the airport reached a new all-time high in passenger traffic with 35.6 million passengers, an increase of 4.8% year-on-year. Projections show MIA was once again the busiest airport in Florida and is still the second busiest airport in the US for international passengers, behind only New York JFK. The airport set record-breaking numbers during the Christmas and New Year's Day travel period, with American Airlines recording its two busiest days ever at MIA in the first week of Jan-2011.
