Metropolitan Airports Commission unveils USD2.4 billion expansion plan for Minneapolis Airport

Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) unveiled a USD2.4 billion expansion plan for Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport with the expansion to take place over a period of four five-year phases (WIDN, 30-Mar-2010). Expansion work includes:

  • Phase I: USD400 million - construction of 16 new gates at Humphrey Terminal;
  • Phase II: USD900 million - modernisation and expansion of the Lindbergh Terminal;
  • Phase III: USD735 million - construction of ten additional gates at Humphrey Terminal;
  • Phase IV: USD225 million - construction of 'cross over taxiways'.
