Malaysia Airlines to configure A380s with 510 seats, offer Premium Economy

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) confirmed plans to take delivery of its first of six A380s in 2H2011, with the aircraft to be configured with 510 seats in four classes, including a Premium Economy section possibly at the rear of the upper deck (The Star, 24-Jan-2010). MAS will deploy its A380s on the 'Kangaroo route' linking London Heathrow with Sydney via Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia Airlines: "We expect our A380s will be configured for 510 passengers as against 359 for our existing B747s. MAS will be introducing a 'super economy' class on the top of the current first, business and economy classes. The new class will have more leg room amongst other features", Dr Armin Khan, Senior GM Network and Revenue Management. Source: The Star, 24-Jan-2010.
