Lufthansa Group passenger numbers up in Aug-2011, load factor down
Lufthansa Group reports (09-Sep-2011) the following traffic highlights in Aug-2011:
- Passenger numbers: 9.9 million, +4% year-on-year;
- Lufthansa Passenger Airlines: 5.8 million, +7.1%;
- SWISS: 1.5 million, +5.7%;
- Austrian Airlines: 1.1 million, +1.7%;
- bmi: 596,000, -10.4%;
- Germanwings: 816,000, -4.1%;
- Passenger load factor: 81.4%, -2.0 ppts;
- Lufthansa Passenger Airlines: 81%, -2.1 ppts;
- SWISS: 85.3%, -1.0 ppts;
- Austrian Airlines: 79.7%, -3.6 ppts;
- bmi: 72%, -6.6 ppts;

Lufthansa Group: "In August the Passenger Airline Group recorded another sales increase of 5.7% over last year's strong performance. The pricing environment showed a stable development. Sales growth was achieved both on short-haul routes (+5.2%) and on long-haul connections to America (+6.1%) and Asia (+8.1%).
