Lufthansa A380 deliveries delayed: Frankfurt-New York service put back

Lufthansa announced the delivery of its first A380 would be delayed by several months to Northern Summer 2010, citing "internal delays at Airbus" (Bloomberg, 23-Nov-2009). The carrier had been scheduled to take delivery of the first of 15 A380s in Mar-2010, with its first route to be Frankfurt-New York JFK. Airbus and Lufthansa have also agreed on a revised delivery schedule for the A380. Airbus had planned to deliver 18 A380s in 2009, but is now expected to deliver 11. The manufacturer expects to deliver 20 A380s in 2010.
