JetBlue releases fleet schedule for 2011

JetBlue announced it has 161 aircraft in its fleet with plans to take delivery of four A320s and five E-190s in 2011 (Seeking Alpha, 27-Jan-2011). Chief Financial Officer Ed Barnes said: "Specifically we plan to take three A320s and one E-190 in the 1Q2011, two E-190s in the 2Q2011, one E-190 in the 3Q2011 and one A320 and one E-190 in the 4Q2011." Mr Barnes also stated JetBlue has committed to financing in place for all of the aircraft they are taking this year. In addition, he states the carrier plans to return one leased E-190 in the 2Q2011.

CEO Dave Barger also stated the carrier plans to increase departures from San Juan this summer by 30% year-over-year. As part of this effort, the carrier plans to launch new services from San Juan to Jacksonville and Tampa in May-2011. Mr Barger also stated that the carrier expects "roughly 25% of our ASMs will be in the Caribbean and Latin America" in 2011.
