JetBlue pilots vote to remain non-union

JetBlue Airways announced (16-Aug-2011) that 58% of votes were cast against bringing in some form of union representation (USA Today, 16-Aug-2011). The Air Line Pilots Association had filed a petition for the election with the National Mediation Board. Of the 2,050 pilots who participated in the election, 58%, or 1,193, rejected ALPA. JetBlue said 834 pilots, or 41%, voted to join the union and 23 pilots wrote in other choices for union representation. It is the second time in three years pilots at the carrier have tried and failed to unionize. [more - JetBlue]
