International pax to/from Australia up 4% to 2.3 million in Feb-2013
Australia's Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reports (02-May-2013) the following international traffic highlights to/from Australia in Feb-2013:

- Available seats: 3.1 million, +2.8%;
- Flights: 12,340, +0.3%;
- Cargo volume: 68,945 tonnes, +2.8%;
- Aircraft movements: 12,986, +0.4%;

- Qantas: 17.2%, -1.7 ppts;
- Singapore Airlines: 9.6%, +0.6 ppt;
- Emirates: 8.5%, +0.2 ppt;
- Air New Zealand: 8.1%, -0.2 ppt;
- Jetstar: 7.7%, -0.4 ppt;
- Virgin Australia: 6.7%, -0.4 ppt;
- Cathay Pacific: 4.9%, -0.7 ppt;
- Malaysia Airlines: 4.0%, +0.1 ppt;
- Thai Airways: 3.4%, stable;
- China Southern Airlines: 2.8%, +0.6 ppt;

BITRE also reported (02-May-2013) low cost carriers (LCCs) AirAsia X, Indonesia AirAsia, Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, Tiger Airways and Scoot accounted for 13.3% of total international passenger traffic to/from Australia in Feb-2013. The low cost carrier share in Feb-2012 was 11.9%.
