India's DGCA extends deadline to phase out expatriate pilots
India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) reportedly announced plans to extend the deadline for domestic carriers to phase out expatriate pilots, beyond the current 01-Jul-2010 deadline, as the DGCA expects 150 expatriates will still be required beyond this date (Business Standard, 19-Nov-2009). The following carriers reportedly employ expatriate pilots:
- Air India: 153;
- Jet Airways: 200;
- IndiGo: 25;
- Kingfisher: 200;
- SpiceJet: 22.
