Incheon 'seriously considering' a dedicated LCCT
South Korea's Incheon International Airport Corp CEO CW Lee, speaking on the sidelines of CAPA's World Aviation Summit in Hong Kong, stated (29-Nov-2012) the airport is currently "seriously considering" a dedicated LCC terminal to accommodate the rapid growth in LCC traffic. According to Mr Lee, LCC passenger numbers have increased from 400,000 in 2009 to an expected three million this year with the number of LCCs operating at the airport increasing to six. He said, "We've reached a point where we need to consider a way to better serve travelers and budget airlines. The number of passengers has increased at a very rapid pace in a very short time." Mr Lee stated a decision on a possible LCCT could be made by the end of this year or early next year.
