Iberia pax traffic down 2.7%, unit revenue recovers in Dec-2009

Iberia passenger traffic down 2.7% - traffic highlights:

  • Dec-2009:
    • Passenger traffic (RPKs): -2.7% year-on-year;
    • Load factor: 79.0%, +3.0 ppts;
      • Domestic: 66.7%, -1.9 ppt;
      • Medium-haul: 70.1%, +3.6 ppts;
      • Long-haul: 85.0%, +3.5 ppts;
  • 12 months ended 31-Dec-2009:
    • Passenger traffic (RPKs): -6.2%;
    • Load factor: 79.8%, -0.2 ppt;
      • Domestic: 71.7%, +0.4 ppt;
      • Medium-haul: 75.6%, +2.5 ppts;
      • Long-haul: 83.4%, -1.8 ppt. [more]

Iberia: "The load factor improved by 3.0 points reaching 79.0%, a record level for December in Iberia's history. With a reduction of 6.4% in capacity, similar to that registered in the last three months, traffic decreased by 2.7%, thanks to the positive evolution of demand on intercontinental flights.
