Hainan Airlines to operate Boeing 787 on Xian-Seattle route, increase Xian capacity investment

Hainan Airlines, on its Twitter page, confirmed (02-Nov-2013) the launch of Xian-Seattle service with A330 equipment on 30-Oct-2013. The carrier said this marks the first US service from Xian. Hainan Airlines also stated (02-Nov-2013) it would operate twice weekly on the route with A330 aircraft and plans to operate the Boeing 787 on the route in the future. In an effort to boost economic development in China's western region, Hainan Airlines said it will increase capacity investment in Xian Airport, with plans to open international routes from the airport to Europe and central Asia.
