Guangzhou Airport's third runway and T2 projects approved

China's Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport stated its third runway and second terminal project has received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission and will commence construction at the end of 2010 and beginning of 2011, respectively (China News, 17-Jul-2010). The airport's proposed 3,800m by 60m runway will be constructed as a category 4F standard. Guangzhou Airport is targeting more than 40 million passengers and 1.2 million tonnes of cargo in 2010.
