French airport privatisations put on hold

France's government has reportedly frozen the partial privatisation of airports in Lyon, Toulouse, Montpellier and Bordeaux over conflicts between the federal and local authorities (La Tribune/Cargo News Asia, 31-May-2011). The French government has a 60% stake in the aforementioned airports and planned to sell 50% to the private sector. Local authorities are reportedly seeking to own stakes in the airports, which the federal government opposes.
