fastjet Kenya applies for air service licence

fastjet Kenya submitted (26-Aug-2014) its air service licence application to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority. The application includes a detailed business plan incorporating the airline's proposed network, aircraft, operational plan and commercial strategy. The licence is a significant step in obtaining an air operating certificate, which will allow the airline to commence domestic and international services. The application will be gazetted on 29-Aug-2014 and a decision will be rendered by the authority following a public hearing 21 days after publication. A unidentified Kenyan national holds 51% of the equity of fastjet Kenya and fastjet holds the remaining 49%. fastjet Tanzania's application process to operate Tanzania-Kenya services is on-going.
