EU lifts liquids ban on transferring passengers

European Travel Retail Council (ETRC) announced the European Union has passed legislation lifting restrictions on passengers carrying duty free liquids, aerosols and gels purchased at non-EU airports and airlines (DFNI Online, 06-Apr-2011). The new legislation comes into effect on 29-Apr-2011. Under the new rules, all passengers travelling into Europe from all non-EU airports and transferring onwards will be allowed to travel without having liquids, aerosols and gels confiscated, providing the goods are packed in ICAO sealed tamper-evident bags.
