Ethiopian Airlines orders 20 737 MAX 8s with 15 options

Ethiopian Airlines and Boeing announced (20-Sep-2014) the airline ordered 20 737 MAX 8 aircraft, valued at more than USD2.1 billion at list prices, marking the largest single Boeing order by number of aircraft from an African carrier. The order also includes options and purchase rights for an additional 15 737 MAX 8s. Ethiopian Airlines CEO Tewolde Gebremariam said the aircraft will form a key part of the airline's plans to carry 18 million passengers p/a by 2025. [more - original PR]
