Emirates to let time pass over Canada slots before trying again

Emirates plans to "let some time pass" before it renews efforts to launch more services to Canada, following the re-election of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his conservative government, which has opposed granting the UAE airline more slots (The National, 23-May-2011). Emirates' senior vice president of international affairs, Andrew Parker, said there is "no doubt" the airline will keep trying to be granted more rights, adding that "despite the occasional flare-ups and the occasional challenges that we have … the world is liberalising".
