Emirates to let time pass over Canada slots before trying again

23-May-2011 1:28 PM

Emirates plans to "let some time pass" before it renews efforts to launch more services to Canada, following the re-election of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his conservative government, which has opposed granting the UAE airline more slots (The National, 23-May-2011). Emirates’ senior vice president of international affairs, Andrew Parker, said there is “no doubt” the airline will keep trying to be granted more rights, adding that “despite the occasional flare-ups and the occasional challenges that we have … the world is liberalising”.
