Emirates to launch 18th African destination, Dakar, in Sep-2010

Emirates confirmed (22-Jul-2010) plans to launch five times weekly Dubai-Dakar service on 01-Sep-2010 - see Route Changes Table for more information. The service will be the only scheduled passenger service between the UAE and Senegal. Dakar is Emirates' 19th African destination. Trade between Dubai and Senegal has followed a steady path of growth in recent years. Dubai's non-oil trade with Senegal rose from USD137 million in 2008 to USD184 million at the end of 2009. Last year, Emirates Group signed an agreement with the Government of Senegal to cooperate in the start-up and longer-term future of Senegal Airlines. [more]
