ELFAA airlines increase pax traffic 10% in year to 30-Jun-2011

European Low Fares Airlines Association (ELFAA) announced (29-Sep-2011) its member airlines carried 183 million passengers in the year to 30-Jun-2011, a 10% year-on-year increase. Load factors increased 1.4% and employee numbers increased 12.1%. "These figures demonstrate beyond any doubt that low fares airlines are Europe's airlines of the future," said secretary general John Hanlon. "Whilst other carriers have bemoaned falling passenger numbers and share in recent years, low cost airlines continue to go from strength to strength, carrying more passengers than ever before and doing it more efficiently than any of our competitors."
