Domestic operations to move to New Delhi T3 after Games

India's Civil Aviation Ministry reportedly stated the new Terminal 3 at New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport would not be able to cater for the increased passenger numbers during the Commonwealth Games if domestic services are shifted to the new terminal (Business Standard, 03-Sep-2010). Accordingly, the terminal will only open for domestic services on 28-Oct-2010 (ie following the completion of the Commonwealth Games on 14-Oct-2010). Carriers were initially scheduled to move domestic operations to the new terminal by mid Jul-2010, which was subsequently pushed back to the end of Aug-2010.
