Delta Air Lines pax numbers down 2% in Apr-2013, PRASM also down 2%

Delta Air Lines reports (02-May-2013) the following traffic highlights for Apr-2013:

  • Passenger numbers: 13.5 million, -1.5% year-on-year;
  • Revenue passenger miles: -0.7%;
  • Passenger load factor: 81.8%, -1.0 ppts;
  • Consolidated PRASM: -2.0%. [more - original PR]

Delta: "Consolidated passenger unit revenue (PRASM) for the month of April decreased 2% year over year due to demand softness in the domestic entity and the 1-2 point negative impact in the Pacific from the yen devaluation. This result is in line with previous guidance; Delta still expects a modest year over year improvement in May and June unit revenues." Source: Company statement, 02-May-2013.
