Czech Airlines appoints new Chairman and CEO
Czech Airlines Supervisory Board appointed Miroslav Dvorak as the airline's new Chairman of the Board and CEO, replacing Radomir Lasak. Mr Dvorak is the current CEO of Prague Airport, a position he will retain (Reuters, 19-Oct-2009). The carrier also appointed Miroslav Zamecnik as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, replacing Vaclav Novak. Meanwhile, the Czech Ministry of Finance reportedly stated it is still considering its sale recommendation, which it is scheduled to finalise on 20-Oct-2009. Unimex-Travel Service Consortium submitted a bid to acquire a 91.5% stake in the carrier on 30-Sep-2009. The Czech consortium offered CZK1 billion (EUR40 million) for the carrier, significantly below the Czech Government's expectations of CZK2-3 billion. [more - Perspective]
