Cross-Strait pax up 23% compared to full year 2010

Taiwan's Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) reported passenger numbers on cross-Strait flights during the first nine months of this year has risen 23% above the full year 2010, according to a China News report.

The CAA said there were 14,634 cross-Strait flights offering 6.7 million seats, transporting 5.2 million passengers at an average load factor of 78% between Jan-2011 and Sep-2011. During the period, 254 flights operated to Taipei Taoyuan Airport and 69 flights operated to Taipei Songshan Airport per week. In mainland China, 56 flights were operated to Shanghai Pudong, 32 to Xiamen, 28 to Shanghai Hongqiao, Beijing and Shenzhen, respectively, 27 to Hangzhou and 20 to Guangzhou per week.
