Copa Holdings revenue up 40.9% in 2Q2011

Copa Holdings reports (03-Aug-2011) the following financial highlights for the 3 months ended Jun-2011:

  • Operating revenue: USD428.5 million, +40.9% year-on-year;
  • Operating costs: USD353.1 million, +35.6%;
    • Fuel:+65%;
  • Operating income: USD75.4 million, +72.6%;
  • Net income: USD41.3 million, +40.6%;
  • Passenger numbers: 1.6 million, +14.1%;
  • Passenger load factor: 76.3%, +3.2 ppts;
  • RASM: USD13.60 cents, +14.7%;
  • CASM: USD11.20 cents, +10.3%. [more]

Copa Holdings: "As a result of strong demand, which has resulted in higher fares and fuel surcharges, unit revenues (RASM) are now expected to come in at 13.7 cents, approximately 4% above previous guidance and 6% higher than RASM for full year 2010. Unit costs excluding fuel, CASM ex-fuel, are expected to come in at 6.7 cents, significantly below 2010 levels," Source: Company statement, 03-Aug-2011.
