Chubu Centrair Airport reports second consecutive annual loss

Japan's Chubu Centrair International Airport reported the following financial highlights for the 12 months ended 31-Mar-2010 (CAAC-News, 24-May-2010):

  • Operating revenue: USD456.0 million*, -12.7% year-on-year;
  • Profit (loss): (USD29.2 million), compared with a loss of USD24.9 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • Passenger numbers: 9.3 million, -14.3%;
  • Aircraft movements: 86,000, -10.5%.

*Based on the conversion rate at USD1 = JPY92.5493

Chubu Centrair International Airport stated if Japan Airlines goes through with plans to cut domestic and international routes, the airport may suffer another loss in FY2011.
