Chinese Government sets 8% target for 2010 economic growth

China's Premier, Wen Jiabao, stated China expects its economy to grow by approximately 8% in 2010 (Xinhua, 05-Mar-2010). However, the Premier warned that 2010 will be a "crucial, but complicated" year for China's economic development. China's GDP increased 8.7% in 2009, above the 8% target set by the Government in early 2009.
