Chinese airlines need to set aside 2% capacity for delays: CAAC

CAAC Secretary, Li Jiaxiang, stated the civil aviation authority will request airlines to set aside 2% of total capacity as backup for flight delays, particularly at between hub airports in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou (Beijing Times, 24-Aug-2010). Mr Li stated earlier China will also implement new measures to reduce flight delays on domestic services. According to CAAC, the average on-time performance rate in China reached 76.9% in 1H2010.
