Chilean volcano cancels services

Chile's Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcanic region has caused all services between Buenos Aires and the Andean resorts of Bariloche, Esquel and Chapelco to be cancelled until 12-Jun-2011 (AP, 06-Jun-2011). Seven other airports in Argentina have been closed until 09-Jun-2011. Aerolineas Argentinas has also cancelled night-time services from Buenos Aires to Santiago, Chile, Mendoze and Argentina as a precaution. LAN has suspended more than 35 services from Chile to southern Argentina. The Puyehue-Cordon Caulle volcanic complex is a ridge between two craters just west of the Chilean-Argentine border. It began erupting on 04-Jun-2011 and has since sent toxic gases through the air up from a 5km-long fissure.
