Chile reports 14% jump in Jan-2011 pax

Chile’s Civil Aviation Board reported air passenger traffic increased 14.2% year-on-year to 1.2 million Jan-2011. Details include:

  • Passenger numbers: 1.2 million, +14.2% year-on-year;
  • International: 582,144, +10.3%;
  • Cargo volume: 24,288 tons, +3%;
    • Domestic: 2204 tons, -11.5%;
    • International: 22,084 tons, +4.7%.

The aviation authority also reported the following domestic and international market shares in Jan-2011:

  • Domestic:
    • LAN Express: 45.9%;
    • LAN Airlines: 30.3%
    • Slky Airline: 18.7%
    • PAL Airlines: 4.7%
    • Aerovias: 0.5%
  • International:
    • LAN Airlines: 46.8%;
    • TAM: 5.1%;
    • American Airlines: 4.6%;
    • Sky Airline: 4.4%;
    • Iberia: 3.3%;
    • COPA: 3.2%;
    • LAN Peru: 3.1%;
    • LAN Ecuador: 3.0%;
    • LAN Argentina: 2.9%;
    • Aerol Argentinas: 2.9%;
    • Air France: 2.6%;
    • Air Canada: 2.5%;
