British Airways to consider B777-9X, B787-10 and A350-1000 equipment as B747 replacement

British Airways will commence a tender before the end of 2011 to evaluate replacements for its 55 B747s, according to wires reports. The carrier is considering B777-9X, B787-10 and A350-1000 equipment. "We have a major challenge ahead of us in terms of assessing the opportunities out there. All of those aircraft will be in a competition which we will be running later this year to really see what we can do," a spokesman said.
