Brazil domestic and international pax reach new records in 2011
Brazil's Ministry of Tourism reported (19-Jan-2012) annual domestic arrivals at Brazilian airports reached the highest level in 13 years, increasing 15.8% year-on-year to 79.0 million in 2011. The month of Dec-2011 also saw a record 7.0 million arrivals, an increase of 8.3%. Annual international arrivals at Brazilian airports also reached record highs since 2000, increasing 14.0% to 9.0 million in 2011. International arrivals in Dec-2011 increased 6.5% to 735,362. Domestic arrivals at selected airports include:
- Sao Paulo Guarulhos International Airport: 8.8 million;
- Sao Paulo Congonhas Airport: 8.3 million;
- Brasilia International Airport: 7.2 million.
