Bombardier reports orders and commitments for 74 aircraft at Farnborough 2014

Bombardier announced (18-Jul-2014) it secured firm orders, conditional purchase agreements and letters of intent for a total of 74 aircraft at the 2014 Farnborough Airshow, valued at more than USD4.25 billion, should all commitments be converted to firm orders. Airshow highlights include:

CSeries:

  • Orders and commitments for 57 aircraft, including LoIs from Falko Regional Aircraft Limited for up to 24 CS100 aircraft, firm orders from Loong Air, Petra Airlines and an undisclosed African airline, as well as an existing customer signing a conditional purchase agreement for up to 13 CS300 aircraft. airBaltic and Falcon Aviation revealed themselves as previously undisclosed customers;
  • Export Development Canada, UK Export Finance, and Investissement Quebec announced that they have jointly developed a working model for partnered financing of CSeries aircraft customers;
  • Bombardier demonstrated its path toward the entry-into-service of the CSeries aircraft by launching the Smart Parts program for CSeries aircraft customers and announcing the approval of the aircraft MRO authority.
  • Bombardier also announced that it has appointed Flight Training Alliance, a newly formed JV between CAE and Lufthansa Flight Training, as its exclusive authorized training provider for CSeries pilot and cabin crew training worldwide, and Lufthansa Technical Training as its exclusive authorized training provider for CSeries aircraft MRO training.
