bmi facing funding shortfall; Heathrow slots may be for sale

British Midland (bmi) reportedly needs GBP190 million in additional funding by the end of Oct-2010, to ensure its continued operations (The Times, 11-Nov-2009). Lufthansa has reportedly pledged GBP95 million towards that target, with the carrier reportedly hoping to raise the remainder of the financing requirements by selling its lucrative slots at London Heathrow International Airport.
