International pax to/from Australia up 7% to 2.7m in Feb-2015, capacity (Seats) up 1% to 3.4m
Australia's Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reports (30-Apr-2015) the following international traffic highlights to/from Australia in Feb-2015:
- Passenger numbers: 2.7 million, +6.7% year-on-year;
- Available seats: 3.4 million, +0.9%;
- Flights: 13,432, +0.7%;
- Cargo volume: 75,989 tonnes, +17.7%;
- Aircraft movements: 13,756, -1.0%;

- Emirates: 9.4%, +0.1 ppt;
- Jetstar: 8.8%, +1.0 ppt;
- Singapore Airlines: 8.4%, -0.5 ppt;

- Virgin Australia: 7.2%, +0.3 ppt;
- Cathay Pacific Airways: 5.2%, +0.4 ppt;
- Malaysia Airlines: 4.8%, +0.1 ppt;
- AirAsia X: 3.1%, -1.4 ppts;
- China Southern Airlines: 3.1%, +0.3 ppt;

BITRE also reported LCCs AirAsia X, Cebu Pacific Air, Indonesia AirAsia, Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, Tigerair (ceased services in Feb-2015) and Scoot accounted for 15.4% of total international passenger traffic to/from Australia in Feb-2015. LCC share in Feb-2014 was 15.7%.
