ANA to configure domestic 787 with 335 seats

All Nippon Airways (ANA) stated (18-Jan-2012) it would introduce a Boeing 787 aircraft to its fleet, specifically configured for domestic operations. The aircraft, to be introduced on domestic routes in Apr-2012, will be configured with 335 seats including 323 economy and 12 premium seats. The economy product will feature newly designed "slim, light-weight" seats, with ANA commenting these will "give passengers more legroom compared to existing Economy Class seats on domestic flights". ANA in Sep-2011 become the first airline to receive delivery of the 787 and is currently the sole airline operating commercial services with the aircraft. As previously reported, following on from ANA's 787 routes in FY2011 launched between Tokyo Haneda and Okayama, Hiroshima, Itami, Yamaguchi-Ube and Matsuyama, ANA plans to introduce further routes between Haneda and Fukuoka, Kumamoto and Kagoshima in 1HFY2012. In 2HFY2012, ANA will continue to introduce new domestic destinations as well as international services for the 787 as it takes new deliveries of the aircraft. [more - original PR]
