Amsterdam Airport Schiphol sees better than expected 2012 traffic; pax to rise, cargo down in 2013

Netherlands' Amsterdam Airport Schiphol reported (07-Jan-2013) passenger numbers increased 2.6% year-on-year to a record 51 million in 2012, "better than expected, for both passengers and freight," according to Schiphol Group president and CEO Jos Nijhuis. The airport handled 1.5 million tons of cargo, up 3%, and 4223,407 aircraft movements, up 0.8%. Looking ahead in 2013, Mr Nijhuis said the group is "expecting a small increase in the number of passengers and a slight shrinkage in freight". [more - original PR]
